You're in great hands

We make sure all our new patients feel welcome, safe, and taken care of. During your first visit, the dietitian will review your medical history, recent labs (if available), medications, supplements, exercise, sleep, current intake and behaviors.  After understanding your goals, we'll work together to develop a plan to help you achieve improved health and wellness.

Kate offers both in-person and telehealth visits at this time.

Accepted Insurance

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina

  • State Health Plan of North Carolina (including the switch in 2025)

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal and PPO Plans

  • Aetna

  • Unfortunately we are not in network with Blue Value or Blue Home Plans

Understanding your insurance benefits

As each plan differs, we recommend calling your insurance company and asking the following:

  • Does my plan cover nutrition counseling (CPT codes 97802 and 97803)?

    • If the representative asks for a diagnosis code, we recommend ICD-10 code z71.3

  • Do I need a doctor’s referral to access these benefits?

  • Do I have an annual visit limit, applicable deductible, copay or coinsurance for nutrition counseling?

  • Does my plan cover telehealth?

Using out-of-network benefits

If we are considered out of network with your insurance plan, you will need to pay for your counseling session at the time of service.

We can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, which is based on your specific policy.
